【Holiday celebration】Sergio Dávila Store Event

I was honored to be invited to attend Peruvian designer Sergio Davila’s holiday celebration at his own boutique in Soho NYC. Tiny as most of other high fashion boutiques in the neighborhood, Davila’s shop window exudes warmth and coziness with a hint of vintage.
The forest green checkered sweater paired with the tonal tailored print trousers showcased the designer’s aesthetics, and they looked so very inviting. In the boutique, Mr. Davila, in his SS 2014 cream/beige knit pullover, offered a private mini tour of his collection. I had to say the designer himself (and his crew) embodies the vibrancy, the warmth, and the approachability of his collection, if not out charmed. He is rather outspoken and is enthusiastic about sharing his inspiration from traveling. With his Peruvian heritage in the mind, Mr. Davila acts as an ambassador for the Peruvian textile industry.

He has managed to turn the natural fabrics like baby alpaca wool, organic pima cottons and silk into sleek, sportswear sophistication. The buttery soft fabrics in a neutral palette of earth tones—navy blue, olive green and warm gray— elevate the modern crisp and clean silhouettes, make them look refined, luxurious yet still relax and accessible. Good for any urban NY traveler. The heavily use of accessories by the crew, felt hats and patterned scarves in particular, accents Latin America in the room. Their hospitality and the complementary flavorful Peruvian drinks made this evening’s mini tour a sensual indulgence.

  1. 飾品融入了建築元素,星星很有聖誕氣氛。
    我喜歡這系列的軍綠色,雖說是春夏系列但顏色還蠻秋冬的呢。
